Having experienced extended lees ageing, this limited-edition expression of our flagship sparkling wine is the epitome of English elegance. Chalklands Vintage Reserve exhibits a light golden hue and a vibrant and caressing mousse. It has an evolving mineral nose with savoury notes and hints of green apple and citrus. These flavours develop further on the palate, which is elegant and generous, yet with a zesty sorbet lift and crisp finish, bringing linear precision and impressive length.
Grape Variety: 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Meunier Alcohol: 12.5% Vol. Harvesting & Vinification: Grapes from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines were hand-picked separately over a two-week period. Each variety was fermented individually using a selection of different yeasts. Secondary Fermentation & Ageing: All components underwent malolactic fermentation and spent 3 months in tank ageing on light lees. After a series of tastings, the wines were blended, filtered and bottled to undergo the ‘prise de mousse’. Following the bottle fermentation, the wine spent 36 months ageing on yeast lees prior to disgorgement in April 2023.
“Overt green apple and peach nose with smokey and leesy tones. Smooth palate with mellow mousse and well-integrated brisk acidity.” Judges' Notes, Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2024
