Simpsons’ Wine Estate creates fine English sparkling wines, which reflect the exquisite characteristics of their iconic, chalk terroir in the North Downs of Kent.
The first release of this elegant and luxurious English Sparkling Wine was awarded a Gold Medal and a “Best in Class” title at the 2019 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. The 2017 vintage is an excellent and worthy follow-up, which should prove equally popular.
Burnished gold in colour, it has an exotic caramelised pear and millefeuille pastry nose with opulent orchard fruit flavours, linear precision and impressive length.
The Roman Road vineyard is situated on the sunny, sheltered slopes of the North Downs of Kent, the Garden of England. Exuding a true sense of place, our Roman Road Chardonnay is elegant and pure, with a distinctive mineral quality that you would expect from fruit grown on these iconic chalk soils.
This single vineyard, still white wine is created from Chardonnay grapes carefully selected for their maturity and concentration. The juice undergoes primary and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in our state-of-the-art winery, before ageing for nine months in French oak barrels.
The Roman Road Chardonnay displays pineapple and apricot aromas, complemented with sweet oak, clementine and mixed spice flavours and finishing in a luxurious, textured palate.
We are delighted to offer the opportunity to pre-order a mixed case of our exquisite sparkling wines, featuring new vintages of both our extremely popular Canterbury Rose Sparkling Rosé and the esteemed Flint Fields Blanc de Noirs.
Included in the price of this magnificent mixed case is the opportunity to collect your order from the Estate, when it is released in early November, and for two people to join us for one of our Wine Tasting Experiences in The Glass House Tasting Room.
Our traditional method rosé is created with exclusively estate grown Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards situated on the iconic chalk slopes of the North Downs of Kent.
Aged for 15 months on lees, Canterbury Rose is delicately pink with a fine mousse and a soft bouquet of rose petal and strawberry sorbet. A creamy, rounded texture is balanced with crisp berry flavours and a refined finish.
SOLD OUT – The first release of this our flagship sparkling wine has been so well received and popular that we have now sold out. However the Flint Fields Blanc de Noirs 2017 is in our cellars quietly preparing in bottle for release in November 2020.
