So after 11 years producing still wine in the Languedoc, Charles and I decided to take on a new challenge, producing sparkling wine in England! We are keen to reassure people that nothing changes at Domaine de Sainte Rose. We will still be spending half our time down there and when in the UK, will be closer to some of our main clients. Here in Kent we will be planting 10 hectares (25 acres) in May 2014.
There have been vines grown in the south of England for many years, however it is only recently that the industry has reached a critical mass to support sustained development of wine production. While this has been happening, we have been building up ‘savoir-faire’ in France and now feel quietly confident that the time is right to apply it to a UK project!
