We are delighted to toast the launch of the 2022 vintage of our refined and refreshing Railway Hill Rosé. Last autumn's harvest was of a superb quality and has enabled us to produce an array of very aromatic and appealing Simpsons' wines for your enjoyment. We are proud to share this firm favourite with you, however this year it is sporting a new look...

Producing wine here in the UK seems to require a strong heart and steely determination at the best of times, notwithstanding the many obstacles we have all been facing over the past few years. One crisis we did not foresee has been the shortage of glass, due to a Covid-related production backlog, the war in Ukraine (supply of raw materials for glass production), and also the sharp rise in energy costs, which has slowed manufacturing across Europe. The combination of these factors have made it a real struggle to source bottles for our 2022 vintage.  

Our Railway Hill Rosé has become something of an icon since it was first launched in 2018, with its elegant and evocative shape, topped with a chic Vinolok glass stopper. However, in order to be able to share the sixth release of this exquisite, Provençal – style pink with you, we had no choice but to select an alternative bottle design and closure format. Not a decision to be taken lightly and it left us wondering if a Simpsons’ rosé in any other bottle could taste as sublime?

 We are pleased to say that this rosé has blossomed in the face of adversity and, for one year only, it will be presented in the equally elegant Conica Inversa bottle with a natural, agglomerate cork closure.

Our Railway Hill Rosé 2022 is still supremely stylish and exudes the essence of an English summer’s day. This delicate pink, Pinot Noir rosé has bright aromas of watermelon and crushed strawberries, with crisp, refreshing redcurrant flavours and a delightfully smooth texture and mouth-feel.
