Simpsons’ Wine Estate is delighted to announce the appointment of Darryl Kemp as Farm Manager starting on the 20th April 2015.  Darryl brings a wealth of wine industry experience to this post having worked extensively in the UK and New Zealand with the likes of Exton Park, Nyetimber, Laverstoke Park and most recently Newhall Vineyards.  Hailing originally from New Zealand’s South Island, Darryl also gained experience with Spencer Hill Estate in Nelson.  Darryl’s accolades include a Farm Management prize for the ‘Highest Level of Understanding for the Practical Application of Agricultural Management’ from Sparsholt College, Winchester and he is widely recognised and respected within the UK wine industry.

Darryl will be overseeing Simpsons’ Wine Estate’s current 10 hectares of planted vineyard in the Elham Valley, Kent and will be responsible for planning and executing the subsequent 20 hectares of vineyard plantation programmed for 2016 and 2017.  He will also be helping the Simpsons implement plans to build a world-class sparkling wine production facility in Barham, Kent, in time for the 2016 harvest.
