In these very difficult and stressful times, the team at Simpsons’ Wine Estate would like to thank you for your support, as well as express our concern, empathy and solidarity with our colleagues in the hospitality and wine trade.

It is clear that things are going to be increasingly tough over the coming months and we are aware that everyone will experience significant and unavoidable disruption. With this in mind, we thought it helpful to provide an update on what Simpsons’ Wine Estate is doing:

EVENTS

The safety and wellbeing of our customers is paramount. We have cancelled all external events and postponed on-site tastings until 30th April 2020, which we will review as necessary.

We do hope to be able to offer our Tour and Tasting experiences later in the year. The first set of these events is due to take place in May and we will make contact with our ticket-holders in the coming weeks. Any queries you should have, please do get in touch with our team: info@simpsonswine.com

We will still be offering Gift Experience vouchers for sale, which will be redeemable across 2021 events too.

ORDERS AND DELIVERIES

We are offering free home delivery until the end of April 2020 on all our wine purchases and the team is also offering to deliver local orders to the older generation and those who may already be in isolation.

In the notes section of our checkout, please do let us know of a safe place our delivery team can leave your package, plus a contact telephone number. Our courier service has confirmed that they will no longer be asking recipients to sign for deliveries.

We also trade with retail customers, such as Waitrose, Majestic and Naked Wines, who are offering our wines via online ordering and home delivery.

TRADE ACCOUNTS

We have reached out to our trade accounts at this difficult time and we will continue to offer support, as much as we are able to. We will keep deliveries going as long as possible.

STAFFING

Clearly the health of our team is our paramount concern, so we are focussing on everyone’s wellbeing and offering flexible working arrangements as appropriate. On the production side, we are ensuring that our staff are, as always, following stringent hygiene protocols.

THE WAY FORWARD

We will continue to adapt and move with the latest guidance, as the situation develops. We are fortunate to have such a strong and resilient team, who, as ever, are working hard to be flexible, innovative and roll with the changes.

On the production side, whilst we are thankful to have completed the first of our 2019 vintage still wine bottlings two weeks ago, our biggest concern is now tirage of our 2019 sparkling wines because if this doesn’t happen, we will still have full tanks and no space to bring in the 2020 harvest!

We will be regularly keeping in touch with our clients via our social media accounts and email newsletters with some fun, informative and thirst-quenching content! We appreciate these are difficult times for everyone but we hope we can lift your spirits and help keep your glass half full.

Thank you so much for your continued support and custom. Stay safe and we look forward to raising a glass with you all once this has passed.
