This year British Airways introduced award-winning English Sparkling wines in its Club World cabin for the first time, so customers can enjoy the ‘best of British’ bubbles at 35,000ft. This patriotic promotion began in spring 2023, with the airline championing British provenance by working with four local wine producers from across England. Each English sparkling wine has been available on a rotational basis, changing every three months.

We are proud to announce that our Chalklands Classic Cuvée NV launched on-board on 1st October 2023 – marking another wonderful milestone in the Simpsons’ journey thus far. This flagship Simpsons’ sparkling wine previously won gold and “Best in Class” at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships and celebrated its first Non-Vintage release in 2022. Chalklands Classic Cuvée epitomises English elegance, is pale gold in colour and exhibits fresh notes of crisp green apple balanced with nuances of flint.

The selection process was rigorous, as the airline’s Master of Wine worked carefully with several award-winning wineries to source, taste and select an exquisite range of English Sparkling wines for customers to sample in the comfort of their seat.

British Airways’ Director of Onboard Experience, Sajida Ismail, said: “We know English Sparkling wines have attracted international acclaim over the years and are only growing in popularity, so we’re really excited to offer our customers English Sparkling wines in our Club World cabin.
