Simpsons Wine Estate is seeking a hard working and energetic Vineyard Operative to join its experienced team.

Simpsons Wine Estate comprises of 30 hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines in Barham, just outside of Canterbury. The first bottles of Simpsons sparkling wine will be released in late 2018. When the vineyards are in full production, the Estate will have the potential to produce 250,000 bottles of English sparkling wine per year.

The successful candidate for the Vineyard Operative position will:

  • be able to operate a modern fleet of viticultural equipment and machinery.

  • hold proficiency certificates for spraying and forklift operation, otherwise the required training will be provided in order to fulfil the responsibilities of the post.

  • have a clean driving licence and their own transport.

  • be of able body / fitness to carry out the regular manual tasks involved in the growing of vines and the maintenance of the Estate.

  •  exude a strong team-working ethos, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks. Members of the Simpsons Team are regularly involved in a broad range of duties, such as bottling in the Estate’s winery.

  • be flexible in working extended hours when necessary, for example, during the harvest period.
