Simpsons’ Wine Estate is seeking a hard-working and energetic Secondary Production and Warehouse Manager to join its experienced team. This individual would be based at the winery in Barham and report to the Estate Manager and Head Winemaker.  They will:

  • exude a strong team-working ethos, as well as an ability to adapt quickly to new tasks
  • have an excellent eye for detail and reasonable level of fitness
  • have strong Excel spread sheet and computer skills in order to manage stock levels and dry goods within a bonded warehouse
  • be mechanically minded, with experience of working with machinery
  • hold a proficiency certificate for forklift operation
  • be flexible in working extended hours when necessary 

The job will consist of the following responsibilities:

  • planning logistics around tirage, disgorgement and still wine bottling
  • ordering and managing all dry goods associated with the above interventions
  • operating a Mecamarc ‘Jade’ labelling and foiling machine
  • stacking, loading and unloading riddling cages and stillage
  • packing up finished goods, order preparation and occasional deliveries
  • receival, dispatch and storage of goods in the warehouse
  • ensuring work areas and machinery are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • occasionally assist with general tasks in the winery 

Own transport is essential and we would request that the successful candidate lives within a reasonable distance of the winery.

Previous experience in the beverage industry preferred and salary will be commensurate with previous experience.
