Charles and Ruth Simpson, owners of Domaine de Sainte Rose in the Languedoc, have been making award winning wine in southern France for 13 years.  They produce 360,000 bottles per year and export to 14 different countries.  In the UK they have an enthusiastic following, trading with key players such as Waitrose, Majestic and Naked Wines in addition to managing their own small import company ‘Serenity Wines’.

Charles and Ruth brought their expertise and know-how back to the UK in 2014 establishing an exciting new English Sparkling Wine project. The Simpsons had invested in 90 acres (30 hectares) of prime viticultural land in Barham, Kent.  This investment was driven by the suitability of this land to plant vines, based on aspect, slope and soil analyses. They will plant the vineyard in thirds and began in 2014, planting 30 acres (10 hectares) with the finest clones and rootstock of the three champagne varieties. Their goal is to produce top quality English Sparkling Wine.

The Simpsons are now looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, well-organised and independent individual to act as a Business Support Executive with responsibilities across their three wine businesses. This role will require multiple skills and be an ideal opportunity for a candidate looking to gain experience across the wine industry. The position would be based at the Simpsons’ Wine Estate offices near Canterbury, with some travel necessary and some work from home possible. Competence in written French would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities will include sales and stock management for Serenity Wines; accounting and administrative support for Simpsons Wine and Domaine de Sainte Rose; marketing and social media support for Domaine de Sainte Rose and possible representation of the businesses at trade and consumer events. Becoming part of Simpsons’ Wine Estate now will open up enormous opportunities for further development as the business grows. Salary will be based on previous experience and on application.
